The good health of a child enhances and assures the productive potential of our youngest citizens, paying and paying dividends for generations to come.

Life is not easy in remote villages or tribal areas where there is poor access to health care. India is home to 46.6 million stunted children, a third of the world’s total as per Global Nutrition Report 2018. A 2019 study published in the Journal of Family Medicine and Primary Care stated that around 54 million people in India suffer from poor vision. 55% of women suffer from anemia as per the National Family Health Survey 2015-16. UNICEF report suggests that 1,300 children under the age of 5 die each day due to diarrhea. An average, 23-30 percent of kids in India are affected with Myopia.

With a team of doctors and support medical staff comprising surgeons, dermatologists, ophthalmologists, phlebotomists, and optometrists, we conduct mobile medical diagnostic and treatment camps in government schools and colleges.

Story of Dahanu

I couldn’t see the blackboard clearly and suffered from headache while reading for long’ Sachin is a class 11 student in the adviasi… Dahanu. He started complaining of blurred vision and inability to see things clearly on the blackboard from the last bench while attending college. Sachin says he told his parents about the same but never had the time and money to go to the city to get his eyesight checked as the city doctor was around 20kms from his remote village and the cost of spectacles was too much for him to afford. He had been neglecting but off late he started developing headaches and found that his studies were getting affected as he couldn’t grasp the lessons properly because of poor vision. Samarpan conducted Eye health check-up camp in this remote village of Charoti and screened …. children. It was found that Sachin was suffering from myopia and had a power of -2.5D in both his eyes. Spectacles were distributed the same day to the children who were found with defective vision. Sachin was very happy as he was now able to see things clearly even from the last bench. We shared his happiness and reminded him of the words of Dr. Kalam, ” The great minds are often found on the last benches of the classroom.
